I have always argued that learning will not be productive as much as it can be if the teacher/tutor doesn’t come from among the students. If the teacher is not someone who understands the students and their environment by experience it will be difficult to communicate the required knowledge.
Take for an example, a teacher who has never play with mud will find it difficult to explain a part of Agriculture to children who has spend their lives in a muddy area. In the same vein, there are some concept in Physics in which it takes someone with better understanding of the concept to relate it to students in the language they will most well understand.
The place of Communicating Culture in learning is the best way to drive learners into the understanding of what is learned. Culture is Beautiful. It is alarming to see many countries in the Africa continent who has thrown away their culture and has adopted the culture of the white.
No country will grow/develop if their innovations does not have the touch of their own culture. We are all unique with our individual culture, let’s see things our own way and let us work on how we can grow ourselves teaching what needs to be taught academically with our culture.
